Little cracks at the end of your fingers -very sore...

Hello to you all, I hope your all well. Thanks for reading my Nails Blog, I hope you will find something to help you with your nail problems.

Very soon I think next week you will be able to have completely FREE my little book called "How To Apply A Professional Polish"

When you sign up for my 'News Letter' you will receive it instantly, via email. So if you sign up but you miss it, I will send it to you via email.

Lets get to the problem then...

You know when you have a little cracked skin at the end of one of your fingers or mostly your thumb, people working outside get them a lot because of the cold conditions in winter. But in severe cases the whole hand can be cracking at the joints on the fingers too.

If people would remember to put on barrier cream, and gloves it would save your poor hands.
Or ladies working on a market stall outside please use your hand cream. If your moisturize your hands before you go to bed, it will  become a routine like cleaning your teeth.

The best thing I have found that cures this nasty little cut, you catch on everything and it hurts so much.

Is good old fashioned Vaseline. Because it has lanolin in it, it will protect  your skin from outside forces such as the extreme cold and not only that it will still be there when you come in out of the cold.
It's the combination of the two that bring this little cut. First your warm then your cold and back to warm again.

Of course it can also be if your a little run down, and your skin doesn't get all the nutrients it should. (That's another story)

You hands get dry maybe wet, (or your rushing and don't dry them properly) they end up with that bit of skin on the edge of your nail, going like hard skin then it cracks. And I know they are so sore, and can be quite deep too and even bleed.

The ideal thing to do when you get one of these is, wash your hands and put the Vaseline on the cut first, then all over your hands. Because by the time your hands and fingers have got to this stage your whole hands are going to be very dry and dehydrated and in need of some care and attention.

So you can buy some cotton gloves from your pharmacy and when you have put the Vaseline all over your hands just before you go to bed, then put the gloves on. In the morning you will have lovely moisturized hands.
But if that pesky little cut is still there put some more Vaseline on it. You only need a bit and don't cover it I know you maybe tempted to stop it catching. Your skin  needs the air now as it's been covered in the night by you wearing the cotton gloves, you can apply it through-out the day if you need to.

The sore little cut will soon disappear. There's nothing worse is there?.

see you soon
Veronica.

Break a nail ...ouch

I hope you haven't broken your nail!

Hello everyone hope your nails are looking good today.

I am going to tell you how to mend your nail if you have broken it. There's nothing worse if your running out of the house ...on minutes...or of on an important date!

First of all, you should always carry a file with you. Nail glue would be good too. and those handy little nail remover pads.

First remove polish, file the acrylic nail down with the flat of the file on the top of the nail and if it's sticking up at the side you can gently file it so it's not sharp.

Gently lift the break and squeeze a little glue, press it back down and wait till it dries . Gently file the glue away off the top of your nail. Then you can re-polish.

If you have broken a natural nail the same principle applies but you must be more gentle with the natural nail.

And don't see-saw on the (free edge) white tip growth, you need to file to the middle from each side bringing the file downwards in the middle and flick from underneath to get rid of little bits hanging off the nail.

Also please don't file down the sides of the natural nail, you will take all the strength away from the nails.

hope that was a good tip for you!

speak to you soon
